PosTel Family Credit Union is a member-owned financial cooperative in Wichita Falls that traces its start to 1929, when local postal workers organized it, and is the oldest state-chartered credit union in Texas. Anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in Wichita, Archer, Baylor, Clay or Wilbarger County can join. It offers home loans along with everyday checking, savings and consumer lending.
The name comes from a 1998 merger with Wichita Telco Federal Credit Union, and later mergers brought in the Archer County and TexDot-WF credit unions. Mortgage lending runs through CU Members Mortgage, and the credit union has several branches in Wichita Falls.
